Library & Children's Hall of Baotou
In the 500m-long site, a design strategy reflects the field condition dominates a series of designs in different scales. The undulating strips emerging from the central plaza upsurge to the east and west end of the site, forming two structures dialoguing to each other. The curved surfaces with soft and tender gesture remind the scene of the rolling hills on grassland, integrating the buildings and the public space unconsciously. Both the paving texture and the concrete façade are extended into the library atrium. To reinforce the architectural cohesiveness, the interior and furniture are designed in a language sympathetic to the fluid vocabulary.
