This project refurnishes a factory house, built in 1950s, into an office building. Some function facilities such as stairs, elevators, toilets and other accessory rooms are added to the building. A central atrium is integrated into the former structure to connect different parts of the old building. By using the new materials such as aluminum frame and glass curtain wall, it makes a distinct contrast between the old and the new. The basement, refreshed with the new interior waterproof constructions, is used as instrument and administration rooms. The walls are cleaned and the damaged bricks are replaced by new ones selectively. The former pattern for doors and windows of the turret is reserved and simplified by using the aluminum framed windows and doors.
