Beijing Guodian Office Building

The L-shaped complex lies to south of a city wall relics park that can be traced to Yuan Dynasty. Displaced to the north and west on the ground level, it shows respect to the park and gives room for the urban space nearby the main road on the west. Plain concrete and old-made copper blinds wrap the building, harmonize it with the historic site as well as imply the owner’s specialty. Extruded outwards, the huge transparent cube, which contains meeting function, is appointed to be the focal point of north façade and make a dialogue with the ancient city wall.
